Methodology

Site Selection & Excavation
Select a well-drained, partially shaded area within the corporate facility away from primary office blocks to ensure discreet operations. Dig three separate pits (each typically measuring 3x3 feet wide and 3 feet deep) to allow for a rotational system: Pit 1 is actively filled, Pit 2 is curing, and Pit 3 is ready for harvest. -
Layering the Waste Matrix
Obtain the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) and local administrative approvals.

Adding Activators & Bio-Accelerators
Spread a 1-inch layer of ordinary soil or old compost directly over the food waste layer to introduce necessary native decomposing bacteria. To speed up breakdown, eliminate odors, and repel pests, sprinkle bio-accelerators such as:
- Effective Microorganisms (EM) solution (diluted in water).
- A thin slurry of animal manure or a water-and-molasses mix to fuel the microbes. -
Moisture & Aeration Maintenance
Sprinkle water over the layers to keep the contents moist but not waterlogged—it should feel like a wrung-out sponge. Cap the top of the active pit with a layer of dry soil or a breathable tarp to retain heat and deter flies. Repeat the layering process daily until the pit is filled. Once full, turn the pile with a spade once a week to introduce oxygen, then let it sit to mature into dark, nutrient-rich compost within 8 to 12 weeks.
