NEWEC
is located in the small old mill town of
Harrisville, NH. This former mill of the
Harris and Colony families is a national
historic landmark due to the town's creative
preservation of its 19th century industrial
heritage. Unlike other mill towns, the
goal of Harrisville is to promote a local,
working economy rather than simply attracting
tourism.
NEWEC blends
well with this area's history due to our own
unique heritage. We are situated on a
beautiful, scenic mountain just one mile from
this historic mill in our town. Our
center resides around a mansion built y William
A. Wheeler about 1850.
